Diagnosed from its congeners by having 53-58 + 2-3 scales on lateral line, 5-6 scale rows between lateral line and pelvic origin and eye diameter 0.7-1.0 times snout length (Ref. 59043).
Body shape (shape guide): elongated.
Adults inhabis clear water with sand and rock bottom in stretches with slow current and underwater vegetation. Size may reach up to about 9 cm SL (Ref. 59043). Migration pattern is inferred from the behavior of other species in the same genus (Ref. 138297).
