Etymology: lopesi: The name lopesi is in honor of Edson Lopes, because of his contribution to our knowledge on
raising and breeding annual fishes in captivity.
Eponymy: Edson Lopes is an aquarist who is proprietor of Aqua Mundo Aquarios in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He was honoured “…because of his contribution to our knowledge on raising and breeding annual fishes in captivity.” (Ref. 128868), visit book page.
