Etymology: Pseudochromis: Greek, pseudes = false + Greek, chromis = a fish, perhaps a perch (Ref. 45335)oligochrysus: Name from Greek that means 'having little gold'; referring to the “having little gold”, alluding to the scant, though distinctive yellow markings (when viewed underwater, the yellow markings around the eye are distinctly obvious, as are the bright yellow pelvic fins.
