Etymology: Corymbophanes:Greek, korymbos = summit, cluster of fruits and flowers + Greek, phaino = to shine (Ref. 45335); ameliae:in the late 19 th century (Ref. 130535). Eponymy: Amelia was a Patamona Amerindian girl who disappeared near Amaila Falls, Guyana, in the late 19th century. The falls are named after her although her name was spelled incoreectly.
