背鰭 (合計) : 7; 臀鰭: 6 - 7; 脊つい: 48 - 49. This species is distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: deep caudal peduncle, deeper than the preanal region of the body, as the result of an expanded skin fold involving procurrent caudal-fin rays; dorsal fin present; vertebrae 48 or 49; dorsal-fin origin at a vertical between the centra of the 29th and 30th vertebrae; anal-fin origin at a vertical between the centra of the 30th and 31st vertebrae; process on the dorsal surface of the autopalatine articular facet for the mesethmoid present; ventral projection on the hyomandibula articular facet for the opercl present; longer parhypural posterior process, with length about equal to the length between the anterior margin of the parurohyal head and the proximal limit of the posterior process; mesethmoid cornu nearly straight; dorsal procurrent rays 38 or 39 (Ref. 137686).
