Body shape (shape guide): short and / or deep.
Adults are found more abundantly on shallow soft bottoms of brackish estuaries or hypersaline lagoons. They enter freshwaters at least to an elevation of 10 m. They inhabit rivers and creeks and probably feeds on aquatic insects and crustaceans (Ref. 36880).
