ေရငန္တည္ရွိရာအရပ္ ေရမ်က္ႏွာျပင္ အေပၚယံႏွင့္ေအာက္ေျခတြင္ ေနထိုင္အသက္ရွင္ႏိုင္ေသာငါးမ်ဳိးမ်ား; ေျပာင္းေရႊ႕သြားလာျခင္းမရွိေသာ; အနက္အတိုင္းအတာ 280 - 950 m (Ref. 58302). Deep-water; 28°N - 14°N, 165°W - 151°W (Ref. 1371)
Pacific Ocean: Hawaiian Islands. Recently recorded from northeastern Taiwan (Ref. 54421). Specimens reported from other areas probably represent different species.

ေက်ာဆူးေတာင္ (စုစုေပါင္း) : 0; စအိုတြင္ရွိေသာဆူးေတာင္မ်ား: 2. Snout short, conical; eyes large, its diameter greater than snout length. Scales small, with very small, conical, erect spinules. Margins along the leading edge of the snout, supranarial ridges, and a median nasal ridge black; first dorsal fin uniformly dusky.
Body shape (shape guide): elongated; Cross section: oval.
Feeds on shrimp-like crustacean and squid (Ref. 1371).
