Western Pacific: Papua New Guinea. Leptostomias gracilis, Leptostomias macropogon, Leptostomias longibarba, Leptostomias bermudensis, Leptostomias analis and Leptostomias leptobolus are probably synonyms of a single species (the entire complex needs a thorough study, Ref. 4468).
